Warranty Policy

Best Value Transmission Limited Warranty Policy

Best Value Transmission provides limited warranty coverage on eligible remanufactured transmission purchases. Warranty coverage, labor reimbursement, commercial-use coverage, and any optional upgrades depend on the specific product, vehicle application, and the warranty level shown on your invoice.

VIN verified before shipment • Nationwide limited warranty • Written claim approval required

Quick Summary: Eligible personal-use transmission orders generally include a limited 3-year/100,000-mile warranty with standard labor reimbursement at $50/hour, subject to the terms below. Optional warranty or labor upgrades apply only when purchased with the original transmission order and listed on the invoice.

Important: All warranty diagnosis, repair, replacement, labor reimbursement, shipping, or return authorization must be approved in writing by Best Value Transmission before any work is performed. Unauthorized work, unauthorized repairs, improper installation, incorrect fluid, cooler contamination, missing programming, misuse, or external vehicle issues may result in denied warranty coverage.

1. Limited Warranty Coverage

This Best Value Transmission Limited Warranty applies only to eligible remanufactured transmission units purchased from Best Value Transmission and listed on the customer invoice. Warranty coverage is extended only to the original purchaser and the original vehicle/VIN listed with the order, unless otherwise approved in writing by Best Value Transmission.

Warranty Type General Coverage Important Notes
Standard Personal-Use Coverage Eligible transmission purchases generally include limited 3-year/100,000-mile coverage. Coverage expires when either the time limit or mileage limit is reached, whichever occurs first, unless the invoice states otherwise.
Optional Extended Warranty An extended warranty may be available on select products. Extended coverage applies only if purchased with the original transmission order and listed on the invoice.
Commercial / Fleet / Heavy Use Commercial or heavy-use applications may receive reduced coverage. Commercial-use coverage must be confirmed in writing and listed on the invoice to apply.
No Warranty Products Some rare applications, discounted items, used items, special-order items, or non-transmission products may be sold without warranty. If no warranty applies, it will be disclosed before purchase or shown on the invoice.

The warranty begins on the original invoice date or delivery date, as determined by Best Value Transmission and/or the applicable product documentation. Warranty repair or replacement does not restart, renew, or extend the original warranty period. Any repaired or replaced unit remains covered only for the remaining balance of the original warranty term.

Best Value Transmission reserves the right to determine the appropriate warranty remedy, which may include inspection, repair, replacement, refund of the product purchase price, or another approved resolution. No warranty remedy will exceed the original sale price of the covered transmission plus any approved labor allowance expressly covered under this policy.

2. Labor Reimbursement Coverage

Eligible transmission purchases include standard labor reimbursement coverage at $50.00 per approved labor hour, unless a different labor coverage level is purchased with the original order and listed on the invoice.

  • Standard labor reimbursement: $50/hour when approved.
  • Optional labor upgrade: applies only when purchased with the original transmission order and listed on the invoice.
  • Labor reimbursement is capped at 6.0 approved labor hours unless Best Value Transmission approves otherwise in writing.
  • Labor time is based on standard published flat-rate labor guide time, such as Mitchell, ALLDATA, MOTOR, or a similar recognized labor guide, as determined by Best Value Transmission.
  • Labor is payable only after inspection and determination that the failure is covered under this Limited Warranty.
  • Labor will not be paid for unauthorized diagnostics, unauthorized repairs, removal, reinstall, teardown, shipping, towing, or any work performed before written authorization.

Labor reimbursement is not automatic. A written repair order, installer invoice, diagnostic report, mileage documentation, and any requested photos or videos must be provided before labor reimbursement is considered.

3. Commercial, Fleet, Towing, Modified & Heavy-Use Applications

Vehicles used for commercial, fleet, delivery, rideshare, taxi, livery, emergency service, rental, snow plow, heavy towing, off-road, racing, competition, or other severe-duty use place additional stress on transmission components and may be subject to reduced or excluded warranty coverage.

Unless otherwise stated on the invoice, commercial or severe-duty applications may be limited to reduced warranty coverage, including but not limited to 18 months/100,000 miles or another term approved in writing by Best Value Transmission.

  • Racing, competition, off-road abuse, intentional misuse, or vehicles operated beyond factory-rated limits are not covered.
  • Modified vehicles may be excluded or limited if modifications caused or contributed to the failure.
  • Vehicles used for towing must have proper cooling capacity. Additional or auxiliary cooling may be required.
  • Vehicles with oversized tires, altered axle ratios, tuning, forced induction, performance modifications, or non-factory use may be denied coverage if those conditions caused or contributed to failure.

4. Installation Requirements

Professional installation by a qualified transmission repair facility or ASE-certified technician is strongly recommended. Warranty coverage may be denied if improper installation, incorrect fluid, cooler contamination, missing programming, incorrect adjustment, external vehicle failure, or related installation error caused or contributed to the failure.

Required Installation Steps

  • Verify the transmission is correct for the VIN before installation.
  • Flush or replace transmission cooler, cooler lines, radiator cooler circuit, and external cooler before installation.
  • If the previous transmission failed with metal, clutch debris, converter material, burnt fluid, or contamination, cooler replacement may be required.
  • Use the correct fluid type and quantity required for the specific transmission application.
  • Install a new or approved torque converter. Installation with a used torque converter may void warranty coverage.
  • Adjust TV cable, linkage, mounts, cooler lines, wiring, sensors, and related components as applicable.
  • Complete all required programming, adaptive relearn, TCM/TEHCM programming, crank relearn, or calibration procedures required by the vehicle manufacturer.
  • Check fluid level, leaks, shift pattern, cooler flow, and operating temperature after installation.

The customer and/or installer must retain proof of installation, fluid type and quantity, cooler service, programming, mileage at installation, and any related repair orders. Best Value Transmission may request these documents during a warranty review.

5. Maintenance Requirements

Proper maintenance is required to keep the transmission operating correctly. Lack of maintenance, incorrect maintenance, low fluid, overheating, contamination, or failure to follow manufacturer service recommendations may result in denied warranty coverage if those conditions caused or contributed to the failure.

  • Have the transmission checked within 15 days of delivery or installation for fluid level, leaks, cooler flow, temperature, and shift quality.
  • Check fluid level regularly during the first 60 days after installation.
  • Change fluid, clean pan, and replace filter according to the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • For warranties longer than 90 days, transmission and torque converter service must be completed every 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
  • Retain service receipts, maintenance invoices, and mileage records as proof of proper maintenance.

6. How To Start A Warranty Claim

Do not authorize teardown, repair, replacement, shipping, removal, reinstall, or diagnosis beyond basic inspection until Best Value Transmission provides written authorization. Unauthorized work may result in denied reimbursement or denied warranty coverage.

Step 1: Contact Us

Call 227-289-4797 or email us before any repair work is performed. Provide your name, order number, VIN, mileage, and issue description.

Step 2: Send Documents

Provide install invoice, mileage, fluid details, cooler service proof, diagnostic report, codes, photos, videos, and maintenance records if requested.

Step 3: Written Approval

Best Value Transmission will determine the next step, which may include further diagnosis, repair authorization, return authorization, inspection, repair, replacement, or claim denial.

Documents That May Be Required

  • Original invoice or order number
  • Vehicle VIN
  • Mileage at installation
  • Mileage at failure
  • Installer invoice or repair order
  • Fluid type and quantity used
  • Proof cooler and cooler lines were flushed or replaced
  • Proof of programming, relearn, or calibration if required
  • Diagnostic report and trouble codes
  • Photos or videos of the issue if requested
  • Maintenance receipts

If a failed unit must be returned for inspection, it must be returned within 30 days of authorization unless otherwise approved in writing. Failure to return a requested unit, failure to preserve the claimed failed parts, or failure to provide requested documentation may result in claim denial.

7. Shipping Damage & Delivery Inspection

The customer, installer, or receiving shop must inspect the shipment before signing the delivery receipt or Bill of Lading. Any visible damage, missing parts, broken crate, punctures, leaks, or suspected freight damage must be written on the delivery receipt before accepting delivery.

  • Inspect the shipment before signing.
  • Write all visible damage on the delivery receipt or Bill of Lading.
  • Take photos before unpacking whenever possible.
  • If major damage is present, refuse delivery and contact Best Value Transmission immediately.
  • Notify Best Value Transmission immediately if damage is discovered.

Failure to note freight damage at delivery may limit or prevent freight claim recovery. Warranty does not cover freight damage caused by the carrier unless the claim is properly documented, accepted, and approved through the freight claim process.

8. Refundable Core Deposit & Core Return

If a refundable core deposit applies to your order, the old transmission core must be returned according to the approved return process. Core refund eligibility depends on inspection and approval.

  • Core should be returned within 30 days of delivery unless otherwise approved in writing.
  • Core must be drained of fluid before shipping.
  • Core must be complete, assembled, and like-for-like unless otherwise approved.
  • Core must not be cracked, broken, disassembled, missing major components, or damaged beyond acceptable return condition.
  • Use the approved return process and return shipping instructions provided by Best Value Transmission.

Failure to return the core may result in forfeiture of the refundable core deposit. Core return requirements are separate from warranty coverage unless the invoice or product-specific warranty terms state otherwise.

9. What This Limited Warranty Does Not Cover

This Limited Warranty covers only approved defects in the remanufactured transmission unit and approved labor reimbursement as expressly stated in this policy and the customer invoice. It does not cover unrelated parts, customer expenses, vehicle downtime, or damage caused by conditions outside the covered transmission unit.

  • Towing charges, storage fees, vehicle rental, rideshare, lodging, loss of use, loss of income, lost profits, inconvenience, per diem expenses, or downtime.
  • Diagnostic charges, teardown charges, removal/reinstall fees, shipping, freight, or labor not approved in writing before work is performed.
  • Fluid, filters, cooler, cooler lines, programming, seals, mounts, sensors, wiring, electrical components, or related parts unless expressly approved in writing or purchased as a covered option.
  • Any issue caused by improper installation, incorrect application, incorrect VIN/fitment information provided by customer, misrepresentation, or failure to verify fitment before installation.
  • Any issue caused by incorrect, contaminated, low, overheated, or improper fluid.
  • Any issue caused by cooler contamination, restricted cooler flow, failure to flush or replace the cooler/cooler lines, or overheating.
  • Any issue caused by external engine, radiator, cooler, driveline, axle, electrical, computer, wiring, sensor, mount, linkage, transfer case, differential, or vehicle control problem.
  • Any issue caused by improper programming, missing programming, improper adaptive relearn, incorrect calibration, or failure to complete required vehicle procedures.
  • Any product that has been altered, disassembled, tampered with, repaired, opened, or modified without written authorization.
  • Any product damaged by accident, neglect, abuse, misuse, collision, vandalism, improper storage, fire, flood, contamination, or acts outside normal operation.
  • Any product used in racing, competition, off-road abuse, non-factory extreme use, or beyond the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended limits.
  • Any product installed with a used torque converter, contaminated converter, incorrect converter, or unapproved converter.
  • Any problem caused by high-performance modifications, tuning, oversized tires, altered gearing, superchargers, turbochargers, nitrous, non-factory fuel systems, or modifications outside factory specifications when those conditions caused or contributed to failure.
  • Freight damage not properly documented at delivery.
  • Shipping outside the continental United States unless approved in writing.
  • Any warranty claim started, repaired, or completed without written authorization from Best Value Transmission.

Hard Parts & Major Components

Hard parts and major components, including but not limited to cases, pumps, pump components, shafts, drums, sprags, planetaries, differentials, and related components, may be excluded when failure is caused by improper installation, overheating, cooler contamination, lack of lubrication, incorrect fluid, misuse, abuse, accident, towing overload, vehicle modification, external vehicle failure, or any condition not caused by a covered remanufacturing defect.

If Best Value Transmission determines that a hard-part failure was caused by a covered defect in materials or workmanship within the covered transmission unit, warranty coverage may apply according to the warranty level listed on the customer invoice.

10. Warranty Limitations, Legal Terms & Governing Law

This Limited Warranty is the exclusive warranty provided by Best Value Transmission unless otherwise required by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Best Value Transmission’s obligation is limited to repair, replacement, refund of the original transmission purchase price, or another approved remedy determined by Best Value Transmission.

Best Value Transmission is not liable for incidental, consequential, special, indirect, punitive, or economic damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of income, lost profits, towing, rental vehicle, lodging, storage, transportation, customer downtime, business interruption, or related expenses.
